My favorite red is also ruby woo (until Todd, who hates red lipstick ran over it with the car on "accident"). When I try to remember one of my most peaceful moments trying to fall asleep, my brain picked a hotel in Hollywood when I was getting ready to see Joni Mitchell alone. Enjoying alone time is new to me and we have been conditioned to not desire it. I have to try that smoothy!
My new joy is going to concerts but not everyone is familiar with bands like Vulfpeck. Which prevents others from attending on experiences I desire. I appreciate your article because in the past few years I have started doing things alone. I always enjoy the company of others so doing things alone was not a familiar activity. Just this week I was feeling a certain way about not finding a friend available to go to SF and see Gary Clark Jr.. Well immediately after reading your article I bought one ticket and booked a room in SF. Maybe an excuse to find a local golf course and play solo as well.
I'm exactly the same way and have experience most of the same situations, with and without a husband! I usually blame this on having been an only child, but perhaps there are other "nature' or even "nurture" triggers. Interested!
Every year I spend my birthday alone, usually at a cute beach town and it’s my absolute favorite thing. Totally relate!
That sounds like the most perfect way to celebrate! My birthday is tomorrow, and I'm going to NYC by myself, haha
The older I get, the more I love my alone time. Maybe the kids did that to me?
No question they’re part of that change.

lol, that's the most passive aggressive lipstick story I've ever heard!

Okay first of all, I love Gary Clark Jr and I’m so impressed that you took your own joy seriously enough to buy a ticket!

I’ve started to wonder if it has something to do with a person’s capacity for pleasure?
